Here is a little bit of local history about Monteith, Ontario.
During the WORLD WAR TWO, the Monteith Correctional Center detained captured German soldiers and was known as POW CAMP 23.
Today, the Monteith Correctional Complex is a medium security prison.
There is a large OPP Station in Monteith so this area is one of the safest places to be located in with that large police presence.
