There is a superbly appointed family home situated on the well elevated hilltop site offering expansive views over the hay fields and towards the Whitefish River valley below the hilltop.
The family home is a ranch style bungalow on a full basement.
With a main floor area of 1,530 square feet, this home boasts two bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and large living room, and a large laundry room which are all on the main level.
All the rooms enjoy generous sizing.
The basement is developed with a huge recreation room, two extra bedrooms and a three piece bathroom plus a professionally built sauna.
An attached two car garage will house your vehicle plus some of your outdoor toys like a snowmobile or ATV.
There have been many upgrades and updates to this home and the exterior is maintenance free.
In addition to the home there is a large Quonset type garage/storage building where you can do woodworking, store equipment and more.
Lazy summer days can be spent admiring the easterly pasture views from the deck and the valley.
Just listen to the birds.
Wild game is everywhere.
Local deer and moose will often be found eating in the hay fields and many times even bedding down in the fields overnight.
How cool would it be if you can sit and enjoy a coffee or tea in the early morning and also watch a mother deer with her fawn eating in your hay field.
If you feed the deer they will visit you every day.
The owners keep the hill top like their own park.
There are ATV trails that can be your own cross country trails in winter throughout this wonderful property.
These trails go down to the Whitefish River, they skirt the hilltop and they go down to the top level towards the next steppe.
Don’t like to ATV?
Then walk the trails as they will make you very fit in no time at all.
Enjoy the nature trails.
The entire property is comprised of hayfields and mostly well wooded acreage.
Trees are mature and are mostly a mix of Poplar trees, some Birch trees and Spruce trees and some jack Pine trees.
A wonderful place to retire to.
A wonderful place to raise your family.
A wonderful place to go and get away from the pressure of big city living and noise and pollution.
ABOUT O’CONNOR TOWNSHIP
The Township of O’Connor is comprised of a fine stretch of valley land, eight miles by six, or approximately thirty thousand acres, well-watered by numerous creeks and the Whitefish River.
The Township of O’Connor is located within the Planning Area of the Lakehead Rural Planning Board in the District of Thunder Bay in Northwestern Ontario. O’Connor is located west and south of the City of Thunder Bay and is bordered by the Township of Gillies to the south, Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge to the east, Marks Township to the west and by the Township of Conmee to the north.
The Township is located in an area of the Province that has a unique history of development and economy based on the natural environment. The Township can be described as an area of rural development exhibiting a “rural” lifestyle having a local economy based on natural resources. The concentration of development into distinct settlement areas is not a desired development pattern. The Township as a whole is considered to be a rural “settlement” area by the residents.
Today the Township has a population of 720 with 287 households. It is mostly a residential area, with the majority of its residents working in the City of Thunder Bay.
The community is served by a Volunteer Fire Department, a Fire Department Auxiliary, a Community Club and the Women’s Institute.
The Township residents have always enjoyed the country atmosphere of this Township.
Some of the residents are farmers, a number of residents have riding horses, enjoy cross country skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, small game hunting or the peace and quiet of country living.
